Employee benefits laws and compliance requirements are very complex. Vita is dedicated to educating and assisting employers to ensure full compliance with all federal and state requirements.

  • ERISA compliance/reporting… Our standard brokerage service includes preparation of a wraparound Summary Plan Description and Plan Document, document updates as mandated by legislative changes and preparation of signature-ready IRS Form 5500.
  • HIPAA Privacy and Security… HIPAA Privacy and Security is a compliance hole for many employers. While the necessary Privacy and Security measures may be in place, a stated policy is critical for compliance. Vita provides turn-key HIPAA documentation and can walk employers through the process of determining and executing Hands-on or Hands-off compliance. In addition, quarterly HIPAA training sessions are available to all clients and their staff.
  • Table I calculation… Vita calculates the required taxable economic benefits for group term life insurance. If this service is not already being provided by your payroll vendor, Vita can assist.
  • Premium Only Plan (POP) documentation and discrimination testing… If your employees have access to pre-tax premium contributions for their health benefits, you need to have the proper pre-tax plan documentation under Section 125. Vita provides POP documentation and discrimination testing resources to help you stay compliant, if this is not already provided by your payroll vendor.
  • Legal/legislative resources… Vita maintains an unsurpassed electronic reference library drawn from dozens of publications. We also provide access to legal support services through LawRoom and human resources consulting services through ThinkHR’s HR Hotline.

  • Industry leadership… Vita principals are regularly sought out by state officials – both staff and elected officials – for input to legislative and regulatory processes. We are frequently asked to provide testimony and negotiate amendments for pending legislation, and thus often have early information on new legislation.
