Partnership continues to expand financial wellbeing support through expert student loan guidance and Public Service Loan Forgiveness assistance.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — [August 24, 2026] — Two years after launching a partnership to provide student loan support to nonprofit organizations, Vita and Summer are celebrating a major milestone: employees of Vita's nonprofit clients have surpassed one million in projected student loan savings through personalized guidance and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) support.

Vita first partnered with Summer in 2024 to offer its nonprofit clients complimentary access to Summer's workplace student loan platform, helping employees navigate the increasingly complex federal student loan landscape and maximize available repayment and forgiveness programs. Since then, 22 of Vita’s nonprofit clients have rolled Summer out to their employees.

"From the beginning, our goal was to make it easier for nonprofit employees to access the student loan benefits they've earned while allowing our clients to invest in a benefit that improves financial wellbeing," said Erik Hansen, President of Vita. "Seeing employees save through this partnership shows that expert guidance can make a meaningful difference in employee’s financial wellness."

Many nonprofit employees qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, but navigating eligibility requirements, repayment plans, and changing federal policies can be overwhelming. Without expert support, many borrowers delay applying, submit incorrect paperwork, or miss opportunities for significant savings.

Through Summer's platform, employees receive personalized one-on-one guidance to understand their options, optimize repayment strategies, and stay informed as federal student loan programs continue to evolve. The platform requires minimal lift to implement, and it lets employers verify employment for PSLF forms digitally instead of through manual paperwork.

"The student loan landscape has changed dramatically over the past several years," said Caroline Barkley, Benefits Practice Lead at Vita. "Our nonprofit clients wanted a trusted solution that could guide employees through a complicated and constantly changing process. Summer has allowed us to provide that level of support, giving employees confidence that they're making informed financial decisions while helping them maximize the forgiveness and repayment programs available to them."

The partnership has also become an important component of employers' broader total rewards strategies. Student loan debt continues to influence employees' ability to save for retirement, purchase homes, build emergency savings, and achieve long-term financial stability. By helping employees reduce that burden, organizations can better support recruitment, retention, and overall financial wellbeing.

"Student loan debt is one of the biggest financial stressors employees carry, and the rules around it are only getting more complicated," said Will Sealy, CEO of Summer. "Vita understood early that this uncertainty lands squarely on employees, and that giving people expert guidance is one of the most practical ways an organization can protect its workforce right now. The million dollars their nonprofit clients' employees have saved is proof that the right benefit at the right moment changes real financial outcomes."

Since launching the partnership, Vita and Summer have helped nonprofit organizations:

  • Deliver personalized student loan guidance as an employer-sponsored benefit.

  • Help eligible employees navigate Public Service Loan Forgiveness and other federal repayment programs.

  • Reduce financial stress by helping employees identify opportunities to lower monthly payments and maximize long-term savings.

  • Strengthen financial wellbeing offerings while supporting employee attraction and retention.

As federal student loan policies continue to evolve, Vita remains committed to helping employers provide benefits that address employees' real financial challenges while delivering measurable value.
